Overview

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units, which designs and builds commercial aerostructures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, estimate, sequence, and perform tasks required in the weld shop.
  • Fabricate, weld, assemble, maintain, inspect, and repair all types of tools.
  • Use processes such as cutting, grinding, and welding to fabricate tools.
  • Coordinate and plan work with other employees.
  • Interpret tool and engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Perform material preparation and various welding processes.
  • Ensure all welds meet visual and functional standards.
  • Maintain required AWS certifications.
  • Perform basic shop math and routine minor machine maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • TIG welding experience with Aluminum, Stainless alloys, titanium, and Inconel preferred.
  • Production aircraft welding experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS D17.1.
  • Ability to follow engineering drawings and weld symbols.
