Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units. Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, focusing on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, estimate, sequence, and perform tasks required in the weld shop.
  • Use processes such as cutting, grinding, welding, and operating fabrication equipment.
  • Coordinate and plan work with other employees using engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Perform material preparation and various welding processes.
  • Ensure all welds meet visual and functional standards.
  • Maintain required AWS certifications and read applicable weld symbols and engineering drawings.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • TIG welding experience with Aluminum, Stainless alloys, titanium, and Inconel preferred.
  • Production aircraft welding experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS D17.1.
  • Ability to follow engineering drawings and weld symbols.
