Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Test Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting dynamic performance testing of gas turbine engines to ensure they meet engine acceptance specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dynamic testing and troubleshooting of gas turbines during engine tests.
  • Setup and use computerized data acquisition systems; interpret test data.
  • Adjust engine controls and test equipment as needed to achieve test objectives.
  • Operate and maintain test cell auxiliary systems, including load banks and gas compressors.
  • Accurately complete and maintain test logs and documentation related to testing activities.
  • Assist with the installation and removal of gas turbines and related test equipment.
  • Collaborate with staff to troubleshoot test cell systems and instrumentation issues.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of test facilities and equipment.
  • Actively promote and participate in all safety and lean initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Test Technicians.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively to the success of the test cell team.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of mechanical and electrical skills with experience operating shop equipment.
  • Skilled in basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a gas turbine environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
