Overview

Horton Emergency Vehicles, part of Terex Corporation, has been manufacturing innovative ambulances since 1968. The Welder I position requires proficiency in MIG and TIG welding procedures as per AWS and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding procedures in all positions.
  • Weld stainless steel and aluminum, and maintain welding machines.
  • Inspect welds for defects such as cracks and spatter.
  • Grind and clean work areas as required.
  • Stay current with TPM and make basic mechanical adjustments.
  • Reproduce operations within quality and time standards.
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals.
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal and fire prevention procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working areas.
  • Ensure proper handling of hazardous waste.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding machines.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Must read blueprints and perform shop math for layout and fabrication.
  • Experience with grinders, sanders, rivet guns, saws, and other air tools.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices.
  • Recognize and reproduce expected quality in work.
  • Previous experience in assembling custom prototype metal components.
  • Must pass and maintain in-house AWS Welder Certification.
  • General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.

What you'll be running
