Overview

The Set Crew Technician, Entry position is an entry-level role that assists in the installation of compression units while ensuring customer needs are met and equipment is properly prepared for use.

Responsibilities

• Perform job activities in accordance with Kodiak’s procedures and objectives.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and build troubleshooting skills through on-the-job and classroom training.
• Attend and participate in all HSE meetings and adhere to HSE protocols.
• Analyze job parts and supply inventory to communicate needs with Supply Chain.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Take corrective actions to ensure 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment.
• Maintain assigned units in a clean and presentable condition.
• Complete reports and actions required by operating procedures.
• Provide 24/7 coverage.
• Work overtime and be available for on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OEM, Trade School or comparable work experience in a related field preferred.
• Successful completion of Kodiak’s Short Service Employee (SSE) program.
• Some knowledge in gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors.
• 1-year experience or training in compression process, production, and equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Competencies in teamwork, effective communication, analytical capability, and customer focus.
• Basic knowledge of compressor packages and systems.
• Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Additional Information

• Requires operation of heavy equipment.
• Requires standing for up to 75% of the time and sitting for up to 25%.
• Requires climbing ladders or stairs and maintaining balance.
• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and customers.
• Requires frequent lifting of at least 10 pounds and infrequent lifting of over 50 pounds.
• High noise environment will occur with ear protection.
• Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Requires various physical positions to accomplish tasks.
