Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities consistent with Kodiak’s procedures.
  • Acts as an informal mentor and leader in the area.
  • Participates in all HSE related activities and serves as a safety expert.
  • Troubleshoots complex repairs and major equipment overhauls.
  • Repairs all electrical issues.
  • Cultivates and maintains customer relationships.
  • Provides input to the Area Manager on personnel needs for maintenance.
  • Analyzes job parts and supply inventory for optimal performance.
  • Ensures 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment.
  • Maintains assigned units in a clean condition.
  • Completes reports and actions required by operating procedures.
  • Guides and leads lower levels of Field Service Technicians.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage and is available for on-call rotations.
  • May backfill Area Manager as necessary.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: OEM, Trade School and/or 5+ years comparable work experience.
  • Successful completion of Kodiak’s Short Service Employee program and 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role.
  • Deep knowledge in gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors.
  • 5+ years of compression process, production, and equipment experience.
  • Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Complete knowledge of compressor packages and systems.
  • Beginning knowledge of area financials.
  • Working knowledge of business processes and workflows.
  • Mentorship training and beginning leadership skills.
  • Main competencies include teamwork, effective communication, analytical capability, and customer focus.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR required.
  • Cat, Waukesha, and Ariel Certifications preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Additional Information

  • Requires operation of heavy equipment.
  • Requires standing for up to 75% of the time.
  • Requires climbing ladders or stairs for inspections and repairs.
  • Must frequently lift at least 10 pounds and infrequently lift over 50 pounds.
  • High noise environment will occur with ear protection.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Requires various physical positions to accomplish tasks.
