Overview

Ferguson is a Fortune 500 company that has been providing quality supplies for various industries since 1953. They are currently seeking a Fabrication Supervisor to oversee associates in the Fab Shop, ensuring safety, production, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and work closely with associates to meet safety, production, and quality expectations.
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures for pipe fabrication.
  • Set up and maintain machines in the Fab Shop.
  • Accurately measure, record, and add random pipe length.
  • Measure and cut pipe with band saw and/or torch.
  • Follow proper procedures for rolling and grooving single and double random lengths.
  • Thread and bevel pipe with landis machines.
  • Move loose and/or bundled pipe.
  • Assemble pipe orders whether in single sticks or bundles and maintain work supplies in an organized manner.
  • Observe vital safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking and shipping of pipe for storage and transportation.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.
  • Ensure pedestrian safety by maintaining a safe rate of speed in all areas while operating equipment.
  • Maintain clearance of equipment to avoid impacts and damage to product or property.
  • Inspect and maintain all forklift equipment in functional condition.
  • Collaborate with management and other associates to resolve any task concerns that arise.
  • Maintain inventory integrity and product safety at all times.
  • Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 year or more experience in a leadership, manager, supervisor, or related lead role is required.
  • Experience in fabrication, pipe fittings, welding, or related experience is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills of a specific area with understanding of external factors that may affect own area.
  • Ability to provide expert advice, coaching, and counseling within particular area.
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrate superior math skills, ability to calculate quantities of product on hand.
  • Previous training in the use of machines for cutting and threading pipe.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices required in the pipe yard.
  • Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: M-F 2:30pm-11:00pm (2nd shift). Training will be M-F 5:00am-1:30pm (1st shift). Upon completion of training, this associate will move into 2nd shift schedule.
