Job Description
Overview
Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. They are seeking a Combination Welder who will be responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques as specified by layout, blueprints, or instructions.
Responsibilities
- Use welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
- Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas.
- Adjust flow of gas and air to reach the expected temperature and flame characteristics.
- Preheat work pieces using a torch.
- Fill holes or correct mistakes in metal work pieces.
- Measure work pieces to ensure they meet specifications.
- Climb ladders or work on scaffolds as needed.
- Signal crane operators to lift large work pieces.
- Use thermal-cutting equipment to cut metal assemblies or scrap.
- Use hoists, cranes, and hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
- Choose welding locations based on metal type and thickness.
- Instruct and manipulate flames or electrodes on work pieces.
- Join pieces together and add metal to develop parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
- Must pass a Weld Test.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- TWIC Card required.
