Overview

The Weld Technician for the 3rd shift is responsible for troubleshooting welding processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining documentation. This role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots welding processes, tooling, and equipment and suggests corrective actions.
  • Notifies production leaders of any process improvements and workflow deviations.
  • Completes process checks on the manufacturing floor to verify weld compliance and capability.
  • Maintains welding process documents and ensures accurate documentation at each workstation.
  • Runs capability studies and documents appropriately.
  • Trains manufacturing personnel on process changes or updates.
  • Assists in launches by following sample parts and new jobs through production.
  • Analyzes scrap and rework and suggests corrective action.
  • Assists weld operators and welders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Three years professional welding experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of welding standards and safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
