Job Description

Overview

Mayfran International is seeking a skilled Belt Welder to join their manufacturing team in a dynamic and safety-focused environment. This role involves contributing to high-quality production processes with a strong emphasis on precision and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work from bills of material, blueprints, sketches and verbal and written instructions.
  • Interpret basic welding symbols, move and position conveyer parts and components on tables, in fixtures or welding machines.
  • Perform basic flat, horizontal and vertical welding primarily on plate and structural steel parts.
  • Clean and dress welds and place welded parts aside.
  • Burn materials to fit parts for welding and to perform simple part fabrications at times.
  • Use floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Requirements

  • Requires general knowledge of welding, metal properties, welding rods and heating skills.
  • Over three and up to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Starting at $23.41 per hour, eligible for a 90-day performance increase.
  • Rate after 90-days: $24.24 per hour.

What you'll be running

TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
