Overview

Savannah Tank & Equipment is hiring 4-6 experienced Welder/Fabricators for true ASME code work, offering competitive pay and relocation assistance for out-of-town candidates who can submit a video weld test.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and fabricate steel tanks, pressure vessels, and/or components.
  • Follow blueprints and company procedures to meet product specifications.
  • Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in welding and metal fabrication (5+ years required).
  • Experience with MIG and Flux Core welding in stainless and carbon steels; TIG and Sub-Arc experience also relevant.
  • Solid familiarity with welding equipment, procedures, and symbols.
  • Must pass company weld test; video weld test may be submitted for candidates living more than 50 miles from Savannah.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform basic math involving fractions and degrees.
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure, blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to handle physical workload including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
