Overview

McWane Plant & Industrial is seeking an experienced Welder to join their Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The Welder I position requires manual welding processes and ensuring compliance with company and government standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Assist supervisors in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Wear appropriate PPE including fall protection and respiratory protection.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the assigned work area.
  • Promote McWane Way principles and follow management program processes.
  • Weld in multiple positions including Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead.
  • Identify and perform appropriate welds per specifications.
  • Weld ductile iron and steel pipe and collars.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Use various tools and equipment safely and proficiently.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must adhere to physical requirements and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.

Additional Information

  • Work schedule is 2nd Shift from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
  • Overtime and extended hours may be required based on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
