Overview

Commonwealth Waste Transportation is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator with strong mechanical aptitude to join their growing team. This hands-on position involves working on walking floor trailers and off-road heavy equipment, focusing on repairs, preventive maintenance, and custom upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate using both steel and aluminum.
  • Perform structural repairs and modifications to walking floor trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trailers and off-road heavy equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades.
  • Perform field service repairs using a fully equipped company service truck.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience welding steel and aluminum.
  • Strong fabrication skills with the ability to read measurements and work from plans or concepts.
  • Mechanical experience with heavy equipment, trailers, hydraulic systems or commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and structural components.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL-A or B a plus).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
