Job Description

Overview

Salvato Fabrications is hiring a full-time Metal Fabricator/Machinist for their high-end architectural and general metal fabrication company in the East Bay. They seek candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the architectural metal fabrication field, but are also open to driven individuals just entering the field.

Responsibilities

  • TIG welding (steel, stainless, aluminum, copper, brass)
  • High-finish grinding/finishing
  • Semi-automatic cold saw operation
  • Bandsaw operation
  • Vertical Mill operation
  • Lathe operation
  • General hand tool & power tool usage
  • Proper maintenance and care of all shop equipment
  • Shop cleaning

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in architectural metal fabrication or a strong drive to enter the field
  • Ability to read CAD drawings, architectural prints, hand drawings, and take verbal instructions
  • Ability to read decimal values and convert fractions, with basic math skills
  • Physical ability to move heavy objects and stand for long periods
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Independent, punctual, organized, consistent, responsible, and high energy
