Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can be a Heavy-Duty Mechanic & Welder for our Redmond, WA shop. The role involves performing maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, pick-up trucks, farm tractors, trailers, and various farm equipment including small engine repair.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and prioritize the repair and maintenance of diesel trucks, tractors, trailers, and other heavy-duty farm equipment.
  • Perform annual and quarterly DOT inspections.
  • Utilize electrical, welding, and general mechanical skills to problem solve.
  • Fabricate machines, tools, and other items as necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on all equipment as scheduled.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
  • Utilize diagnostic tests for troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Work/repair equipment in the field and communicate with the General Manager about lengthy or costly repairs.
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations and recognize safety-related issues.
  • Operate a forklift and efficiently use various hand and power tools.
  • Complete work orders and other assigned paperwork as directed.
  • Safely climb on top of, around, and under machinery as needed.
  • Must be able to reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full-time experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Must be able to work schedule as posted and overtime as necessary.
  • Pass a drug screen prior to employment.
  • Speak, understand, read, and write the English language.
  • Meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Common sense, good judgment, dependability, problem solving, and leadership ability.
  • Ability to fabricate and weld metal.
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to diagnose and repair pumps, motors, and rams.
  • Good electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting repair skills.
  • Experience operating and maneuvering equipment and machinery.
  • Possessing a CDL Class A License is highly desirable.
  • DOT certified preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and schedule flexibility.
