Overview

Zekelman is a family of companies and the largest independent steel pipe and tube manufacturer in North America, with a legacy dating back to 1877. As a Field Welder Helper at Z Modular in the Greater Phoenix Area, you will support field welding operations through equipment setup, material preparation, and job site organization, contributing to successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist welders with all phases of field welding operations.
  • Set up, organize, maintain, and retrieve welding support equipment.
  • Perform grinding, cutting, cleaning, and preparation of materials.
  • Complete training and perform fire watch responsibilities during hot work activities.
  • Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize materials and equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for safe operation.
  • Work safely in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous construction, welding helper, manufacturing, industrial labor, or related experience preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Basic knowledge of construction and industrial safety practices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, grinders, cutting tools, and other construction equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards and respond appropriately.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to accept direction, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

Additional Information

  • Field-based position with work performed primarily at active construction sites.
  • Daily travel between project locations expected.
