Overview

The Welder position at ACCO - Attalla involves welding castings and fabrications according to vendor specifications while ensuring production and quality standards are met. The role requires the operation of manual and semi-automatic welding machines and adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Weld castings and fabrications to vendor specifications using specified rods.
  • Operate one or more manual and semi-automatic welding machines.
  • Select the appropriate welding rod for each job.
  • Pass any required tensile and code tests.
  • Use precision tools and measuring instruments.
  • Read and understand blueprints and written specifications.
  • Lift 1 to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Comprehend safety warnings and visually observe machine functions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and inspectors.
  • Learn and retain information about machine controls and functions.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Work in an environment with exposure to dust, smoke, and fumes.
  • Perform MIG and Stick welding.
  • Assemble and wire cranes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
