Overview

This Mechanic/Welder position at Jones Mill Quarry involves plant maintenance and repair of machinery, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations. The role requires inspecting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and welding tasks as part of a world-class team at Martin Marietta, a leading supplier in the heavy building materials industry.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and diagnose issues with machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on aggregate plant processing equipment.
  • Fabricate, weld, cut, and grind as needed.
  • Operate cranes, man-lifts, hoists, and various tools.
  • Order parts through maintenance department or suppliers.
  • Ensure a safe work environment at all times.
  • Complete required paperwork to maintain equipment.
  • Conduct MSHA pre-shift safety inspections.
  • Train and coach other employees on maintenance practices.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in heavy duty maintenance or equivalent training.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding; MIG is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and order basic parts.
  • Must be able to work 8-12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Additional Information

  • New hires must attend orientation and safety training in Dallas, Texas.
  • Mileage and approved travel expenses will be reimbursed for training.
