Overview

Raymond West is seeking a skilled Conveyor Technician for the graveyard shift to repair and service customer equipment while maintaining good communication with customers and colleagues. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and represents the company in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Repair all types of Conveyor equipment that RW sells and services.
  • Proficient in lacing, splicing, cutting, vulcanized, and cold bonding belts.
  • Mechanical, Electric, Pneumatic and software integration problem solving.
  • Perform alignment & tracking of belts.
  • Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
  • Train other employees as needed.
  • Maintain a profitable billing level.
  • Follow all Service Department procedures.
  • Communicate with assigned leadership.
  • Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
  • Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
  • Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle.
  • Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
  • Represent the company favorably in all situations.
  • Pass all available certifications appropriate to the position.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
  • Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
  • Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
  • Coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor.
  • Must follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
  • Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
  • Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.
  • Establish a positive rapport with customers.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Organizational Time Management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Must maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and managers.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently.
  • Must be customer oriented and exhibit professional behavior.
  • Must have working knowledge of basic D.C. electricity, basic A.C. electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines.
  • Must have working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Must have mechanical abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than the allowable level of points on record.
  • Must maintain personally owned tools according to approved minimum tool list.
  • Must be a team player and able to take directions.

Additional Information

  • Position is based in the field and requires daily travel within assigned territories.
  • Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card.
  • Working hours are weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. or variable as required.
