Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical engineering design of components in electro-mechanical systems from concept through production.
  • Proficient in metal and plastic design, pneumatics, thermal management, material selection and design verification testing.
  • Research and analyze data such as marketing specifications.
  • Design products or systems related to the PCBA manufacturing and rework industry, interfacing with machines, hardware, and software.
  • Perform product development activities to improve performance and implement new features to existing products.
  • Synthesize complex information, collect and research data, generate creative solutions, and apply design principles.
  • Direct engineering personnel in fabrication of R&D prototypes and development of testing methods and procedures.
  • Create detailed designs of mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Create fabrication drawings for release to manufacturing.
  • Assist drafters/designers in developing the structural design of products using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years previous related experience.
  • Extensive experience in design of electro/mechanical assemblies, motion control, and heating applicable to the manufacturing industry.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ergonomics and industrial design.
  • Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to develop plans, coordinate, and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and provide vision to peers and subordinates.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
  • Intermediate experience with design, manufacturing, project word processing, spreadsheets, and database software applications.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks CAD system.
  • Familiar with ANSI Y14.5 standard for dimensioning and geometric tolerance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
