Overview

At Okland, a commercial general contractor and construction management company, the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading welding and fabrication quality control programs to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Lead quality initiatives promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inspection and verification activities for high-purity process systems.
  • Develop and oversee quality control processes for thermoplastic piping systems.
  • Conduct inspections of welding, fusion, fabrication, and installation activities.
  • Monitor fabrication and installation activities for adherence to approved procedures.
  • Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and associated documentation.
  • Verify compliance with material traceability requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Coordinate and oversee Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and system turnover inspections.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison during audits and inspections.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of non-conformances and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality issues and maintain schedules.
  • Participate in project planning sessions and lessons-learned reviews.

Requirements

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 7–10 years of quality control, quality assurance, or welding inspection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, and SEMI standards.
  • Experience inspecting stainless steel process piping systems and orbital welding operations.
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic fusion processes and quality control requirements.
  • Experience reviewing and managing WPS, PQRs, and material traceability documentation.
  • Familiarity with NDE methods and testing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of contamination control practices and cleanroom protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing quality audits and client inspections.
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring quality personnel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
