Overview

The Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment at Walmart is responsible for preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures. This role requires multiple craft skills and compliance with safety standards while supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and test equipment to diagnose issues and determine replacement needs.
  • Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts ordering, and documentation.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 4 years’ experience in the same fields.
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
  • No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
