Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.
  • Evaluate daily plant operating performance and advise on changes to improve efficiencies and quality.
  • Lead a team of professionals to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and guide discussions with operators to improve performance.
  • Solicit and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and collaborate with engineers on project proposals.
  • Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
  • Act as the principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
  • Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
  • Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
  • Assist in department budget planning and management of expenses.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating individuals on equipment use and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.

Requirements

  • Preferably 8-10 years of experience as a welder with 2-4 years leading welding teams.
  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards.
  • Ability to operate office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems in various situations.
