Overview

The Lead Datacenter Cable Technician position involves leading a crew in the installation and testing of cabling systems, with travel provided for projects. This role is with TEKsystems, a leading provider of business and technology services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major project crews and ensure effective performance.
  • Provide necessary training and hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity and compliance with project budget.
  • Complete all internal and project paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Perform quality checks and prepare as-built drawings.
  • Serve as the main on-site customer contact for questions and concerns.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven success leading a crew of 5.
  • Experience with fiber handling, termination, and testing.
  • Knowledge of cable pulling, punchdown, Cat6, and Cat5.
  • Ability to adhere to safety and quality guidelines.

  • Flights, hotel, and rental car provided.
  • $50/day Per Diem for food.
