Job Description

Overview

Become a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and take pride in keeping communities safe and connected! This position gives you hands-on experience with a broad range of building and repair work.

Responsibilities

  • Repair structures and bridges using carpentry, welding, masonry, and concrete methods.
  • Operate construction tools and machinery to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Install and replace fixtures, wiring, and related system components.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, as well as install new piping when required.
  • Perform routine inspections and adjustments to heating and cooling systems.
  • Coordinate tasks and guide semi skilled workers during projects.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's license.

Additional Information

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Selected candidates will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,605.00 (before taxes).
