Overview

Silvi Materials is seeking a Railyard Operator/Maintenance Mechanic in Bristol, PA, to perform tasks related to railcar operations and maintenance of production equipment. Responsibilities

  • Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
  • Coordinate rail car orders and devise loading sequences to meet customer expectations.
  • Instruct incoming deliveries on procedures for off-loading.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of railcar load quantities and records of BoLs.
  • Prepare and execute daily checks of loading equipment and routine checks during operation.
  • Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
  • Maintain and use safe practices while handling, maintaining, and operating equipment.
  • Follow procedures and directions as presented by management.
  • Work hours as directed for vessel unloading.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Operate heavy machinery including front-end loader, forklift, telehandler, and skid-steer.
  • Perform physical labor as directed, lifting up to 50-100lbs.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • At least one year’s experience in industrial maintenance required.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in steel fabrication and welding highly preferred.
  • Experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.
  • Experience in the maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of varied types of motors and their operation highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals using diagram schematics and parts manual highly preferred.
  • Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation is a plus.

  • Schedule is Sunday-Thursday (9:00 pm-5:00 am) + Fridays as needed.
