Overview

Thales is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd Shift in Montgomeryville, PA, to maintain production equipment in OEM condition while minimizing downtime and expenses. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various systems to ensure quality products are delivered on time.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production equipment in OEM or standard operating condition.
  • Test faulty equipment using precision test apparatus.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and wiring.
  • Adjust mechanical and electronic parts.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate machines according to specifications.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance per written procedures.
  • Ensure timely response and solution to equipment-related issues.
  • Contribute to improving measurable metric objectives related to equipment performance and expenses.
  • Maintain microprocessor-based control equipment and electrical control systems.
  • Investigate root causes of issues and provide information to Engineers and Project Leaders.
  • Perform and assist with equipment/tooling setups.
  • Assist Operators and Engineers with resolving production issues.
  • Enter and retrieve data for repair parts and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the shop area, tools, and materials.
  • Assist Engineers in the design and development of technologies.
  • Assist in Operator training related to equipment setup and maintenance.
  • Assist in developing process documentation and maintenance standards.
  • Participate in special projects including new installations and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to diagnose problems.
  • Must be able to read and understand relay logic and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be able to use various hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Ability to use routine software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical technician or relevant combination of experience and education.

  • Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM M-Th with occasional OT needed.
  • Physical Environment: Production Floor In Manufacturing Facility.
