The Tool Crib Aide position on the 3rd shift involves various responsibilities related to tool management and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Receive and properly disposition tools, gauges, and fixtures within the plastics machining area.
  • Fabricate gauges for Plastic Finishing.
  • Load and monitor inventory of tooling including MSC vending machines.
  • Maintain part Quality Standards.
  • Setup and operate Prototrak CNC Lathes, manual mills, drills, and saws for prepping various size tubes.
  • Utilize required drawings as necessary.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance for all assigned equipment.
  • Operate ancillary equipment in the department.
  • Perform job in compliance with Company’s Quality Policy (ISO 9000 and AS9100).
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Ensure all work centers have enough orders loaded to maintain flow and achieve on-time delivery.
  • Release materials from tubing warehouse and ensure all tooling and gauges are correctly stated.
  • Verify that programs and drawings are available and current.
  • Remove excess material trays from production area and return them to the stores area.
  • Work closely with the Production Supervisor on any orders or material problems.
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement activities when required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
  • CNC knowledge through completion of a CNC course or on-machine training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn SAP.
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret production drawings and work instructions.
