Overview

Deriva Energy, a portfolio company of Brookfield Renewable U.S., is seeking a Solar Technician I or II to provide support for multiple solar projects at Rambler Solar in San Angelo, TX. This role involves establishing operation and maintenance support for new sites and ensuring the safety and efficiency of solar facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve faults on solar equipment related to mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Execute corrective tasks on solar equipment.
  • Work as scheduled during the week and be on call as required by the manager.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Operate grounds keeping equipment including weed eaters and lawn mowers.
  • Complete EH&S documentation and necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training within 1 year for Level I.
  • 2 years of related work experience for Level II.
  • Completed Level I job performance measures and training for Level II.
  • Associates or Technical degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance (desired).
  • Completion of a Solar training program (desired).
  • 1+ years of related work experience (desired).
  • Experience with multiple solar supplier technology (desired).
  • High voltage and sub-station maintenance experience (desired).
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment (desired).
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance (desired).
  • Valid driver’s license.
