Overview

DBS Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Welder-Fabricator to join our team in Atlanta, GA. This is a hands-on position for individuals who have strong welding and metal fabrication skills and can work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols
  • Layout, fit, and fabricate steel components and assemblies
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of fabricated parts
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, and other shop equipment
  • Measure, mark, and cut materials to precise dimensions
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies for quality and accuracy
  • Work closely with team members to resolve fabrication and assembly issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Previous welding and fabrication experience required
  • Proficiency with MIG welding required
  • TIG welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using common fabrication equipment and measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
