Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta, responsible for maintaining the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet to ensure customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs perform inspections, document maintenance procedures, and practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures.
• Inspect aircraft or aircraft components for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear.
• Recommend replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection.
• Report issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel.
• Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components.
• Repair worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using hand tools and testing equipment.
• Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures.
• Interpret discrepancies or logs to troubleshoot issues and identify required next steps.
• Research, read, and interpret technical manuals and guidelines.
• Review maintenance records to determine if service and maintenance checks were performed.
• Maintain repair logs documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.
• Serve as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and corrective recommendations.
• Use computers and technology to enter, document, access, receive, or communicate information.
• Participate in continuous learning to grow skills and qualifications.

Requirements

• Must have an FAA Airframe and Power Plant license.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a background check including a government required fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
• Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be performing satisfactorily in present position if transferring internally.

• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.
