Overview

SA Recycling is seeking hard-working, reliable, and safety-minded individuals to join their team as a Mechanic for Heavy Mobile Equipment. The role involves the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various heavy construction machines, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, service and repair tasks for various systems on mobile equipment.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks on all Heavy Mobile Equipment per manufacturer and SA Recycling recommendations.
  • Replace worn or defective parts, involving disassembly and reassembly of major components.
  • Overhaul and test major systems to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate service records on all work performed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and schedule future maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Order and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Weld broken parts, fit bearings, and align frames and gears.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Interact with yard General Managers to schedule maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working area.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
  • Perform all tasks within SA Recycling’s Safety and Environmental practices.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical degree highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Mobile Equipment mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential.
  • Individual equipment repair certifications can be beneficial.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to complete and pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
