Overview

BlueScope Coated Products is one of the largest coil coating companies in the United States, specializing in painted metal coils and toll processing services. The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot plant mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Respond to production supervisor needs during emergency breakdowns.
  • Utilize manpower and equipment effectively to complete repairs timely.
  • Clean up maintenance and work areas after repairs.
  • Ensure safe use of company equipment and tools, following Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and inform management when replenishment is needed.
  • Utilize the Work Order system for entering and completing work orders.
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager or Production Supervisor during off-shifts and weekends.
  • Comply with Quality and Environmental Management System principles.
  • Communicate daily with internal personnel to resolve problems and achieve goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Technology Diploma, Trade Certification, or a minimum of five years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician.
  • PLC and basic drives experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficient communication skills, especially in explaining complex electrical issues.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and bending.
