Overview

The Service Technician Diesel is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in vehicles and equipment. The role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards while collaborating with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mobile equipment.
• Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment to maximize performance and limit downtime.
• Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors.
• Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
• Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely.
• Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment.
• Enter and maintain service reports for all mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
• Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant.
• May assist mechanics in vehicle repair and change tires as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Three (3) years experience driving commercially licensed vehicles preferred.
• Two (3) years experience driving ready mix concrete trucks preferred.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement.
• Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
• Must have excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations.
• Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
• Mechanical skills and ability to apply knowledge and experience effectively.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
• Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs.
• Travel will be required overnight as business demands.
• Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation.
