Responsibilities

  • Perform Aluminum MIG Arc Welding on fixtures, parts, and ramps.
  • May do some TIG welding.
  • Read blueprints and follow job orders.
  • Check the blueprint and job order before starting any operation.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Flip the trailer with help to weld the other side.
  • Verify specifications by inspecting completed components.
  • Ensure the safety of the equipment being used.
  • Notify the lead or manager of the need for equipment repairs.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Recognize defective or damaged parts and double check job orders.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures.
  • Follow directives and procedures and complete paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work in compliance with safety, quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 6S and Kaizen events.

Requirements

  • Aluminum welding experience is required.
  • Must pass an aluminum weld test.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and follow a job order.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

What you'll be running

It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
