Overview

As a Plastics Technician, you will be integral in producing plastic bottles for high-volume manufacturing, operating and maintaining blow molding equipment while ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, set up, and troubleshoot blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to meet production and quality targets.
• Perform machine startups, shutdowns, mold changes, product changeovers, and mechanical or process adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process-related equipment issues while supporting preventative maintenance activities.
• Perform quality inspections and process adjustments to ensure bottles meet specifications while reducing scrap and minimizing downtime.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to temporary employees while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting blow molding equipment required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
• Two or more years of experience operating and troubleshooting blow molding equipment preferred.
• Technical school, apprenticeship, or Associate degree in industrial maintenance, manufacturing technology, plastics technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.

Additional Information

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds and safely perform hands-on work throughout a 12-hour production shift.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb stairs or ladders, and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment in a loud, hot, humid, and industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE and hearing protection.
