Overview

At MasTec Communications Group, we build for the future. As a Fiber Splicer, you will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in expanding technology for a better community while providing high-quality service to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks.
  • Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
  • Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks.
  • Prep fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
  • Utilize fusion splicer and test equipment including OTDR, OLTS, and power meter.
  • Have knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding light levels, and dB loss.
  • Work in outdoor utility construction sites.

Requirements

  • Safety is a part of your day-to-day.
  • Track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
  • Ability to solve hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach.
  • Looking for long-term projects.
  • Comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck.
  • Flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime.
  • At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
