Overview

Cadrex is seeking a Quality Inspector III to enhance manufacturing practices through the development and improvement of quality processes, ensuring customer expectations are met. The company specializes in complex sheet metal and machined production parts for various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Conduct visual inspections of products according to customer requirements.
  • Inspect and test in-process and finished products.
  • Document inspection results by completing required reports and logs.
  • Identify and quarantine all non-conforming products.
  • Generate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant products.
  • Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and addressing repair needs.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials to confirm they meet specifications.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Inspect and release products for shipping, ensuring proper documentation or certifications.
  • Assist with dimensional verification of PPAP and 1st article parts.
  • Create internal Control Plans in accordance with customer and Advanced Laser requirements.
  • Operate FARO and Micro-Vu measurement equipment.
  • Support the production floor by assisting with manufacturing documentation and measuring techniques.
  • Assist with calibration procedures and provide calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team for corrective actions in response to customer complaints and internal process failures.
  • Work on a team to resolve issues with manufacturing personnel.
  • Participate in internal process audits including dimensional workmanship and documentation verification.
  • Complete PPAP and 1st article documentation development and processing.
  • Lead and train Level I and II inspectors to enhance performance.
  • Train and implement lean processes and project improvements.

Requirements

  • Understand industry safety standards and quality expectations.
  • 5 or more years of hands-on inspection experience in an AS9100, CNC machining environment.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS and Solidworks is a plus.
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Suite.
  • High school diploma required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.

Additional Information

  • Onsite position.
  • Work schedule is Monday to Friday.
  • Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and electrical shock risks.
