Overview

Bryn Mawr College is seeking a full-time Laboratory Instrumentation Technician responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of analytical instruments and equipment used by the College's science departments. The role includes instructing students in instrument operation and managing the remote temperature monitoring system for critical refrigerators and freezers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the analytical instrumentation in the Science Division, including maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Perform annual calibration and repair of micropipettes in the Science Division.
  • Administer and oversee the remote temperature monitoring system for critical refrigerators and freezers.
  • Manage the Chemical Inventory, including receiving and logging chemicals and delivering them to appropriate laboratories.
  • Coordinate service contracts for instrumentation and schedule on-site visits and repairs.
  • Assist with the receipt of new instrumentation and moving equipment throughout the science building.
  • Provide instruction on the use of instrumentation to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with technical certification in instrumentation, electronics, or a related field plus 3-5 years related work experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Must have a PA Driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
