Overview

The Welder Fabricator - EMT is responsible for laying out and fabricating metal weldments and assemblies, executing work orders, and ensuring quality through self-inspection. The role requires familiarity with various welding processes and the ability to work independently while collaborating with shop management.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes.
  • Perform structural fit up using best shop practices.
  • Weld per WPS.
  • Use appropriate measuring instruments for the task.
  • Operate hand tools and a variety of fabrication machines.
  • Interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a clean work area as required.
  • Apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Welding/fabrication/layout experience.
  • Must own tools appropriate to the job being performed.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and equipment related to the task.
  • Fabrication skills include complicated layouts and check & straightening capabilities.
  • Prefer AWS Certified Welder in Steel, Stainless, Aluminum and qualified in all positions.
  • Should be able to use measurement equipment to inspect their own work.
  • Must be able to rig and move heavy structures.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Operate Fork Lift and Overhead Crane.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Pass weld test.
