Overview

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce new chips and advanced displays. The Engineering Technician III role involves performing complex electro-mechanical functions and troubleshooting systems to support the manufacturing of semiconductor chips.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex electro-mechanical technical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions to perform moderate testing and troubleshooting.
• Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation utilizing good writing skills.
• Assist in revising, developing, and implementing department procedures.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms.
• Observe all safety standards and maintain a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment.
• Become familiar with current manufacturing and/or engineering processes and stay informed of any changes.
• Perform necessary rework and assist in determining remedies for malfunctions.

Requirements

• Developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures.
• Good understanding of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives.
• May provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
• Ability to provide solutions to atypical problems based on existing precedents.

• Full time position.
• Location: Phoenix, AZ.
• Travel required: Yes, 10% of the time.
• Relocation eligible.
