Overview

As a valuable member of the Maintenance Team, a Maintenance Technician III plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the facility's equipment, systems, and utilities. The position is responsible for performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and operating maintenance equipment while upholding high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify and report potential equipment failure or safety issues.
  • Monitor automation system performance and report abnormalities that may impact production, safety, or equipment reliability.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned.
  • Carry out necessary repairs to maintain the operational integrity of equipment and machinery.
  • Operate various power tools, measuring instruments, welding systems, and other maintenance equipment in a safe manner.
  • Safely operate forklifts and manual and electric pallet jacks.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and close work orders.
  • Maintain and organize equipment manuals located within the Maintenance Library.
  • Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris.
  • Attend and participate in ongoing training related to the role.
  • Contribute to the management of parts inventory to ensure adequate supplies for maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Must possess a strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, servo drives, and associated control circuits.
  • Experience with robotic systems, including robotic arms and automated material handling systems, is preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system issues on automated and robotic equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation networks and communication protocols is preferred.
  • Experience working in a facility with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred.
  • High school education or minimum of 7 years related experience or training.

Additional Information

  • Shifts, starting times and workdays will always be determined by production scheduling.
  • Good attendance and must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • The work environment includes cold temperatures and exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
