Overview

The Production Technical Operator 4 role at Celestica involves performing complex tasks in a manufacturing environment, including assembly, operation of automated equipment, and quality inspection. Responsibilities

  • Perform manual assembly and operation of automated assembly equipment.
  • Conduct hand soldering and operation of automated test equipment.
  • Inspect and repair products as needed.
  • Perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs, and first line preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • Four to five years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of board assembly process and product process flow.
  • Knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications, and SMT processing systems.
  • Ability to set up, operate, calibrate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead high-quality production.
  • Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
  • Familiarity with computer applications such as Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and documentation control systems.

Additional Information

  • Duties are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
  • Physical demands include periodic light to heavy manual effort and sustained visual concentration.
