Overview

The Mechanical Journeyman supports mechanical service and retrofit work by performing sheet metal modifications and mechanical piping tasks. This role emphasizes safety, adherence to job specifications, and high-quality work in various environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support mechanical equipment.
  • Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and verify proper fit-up.
  • Complete chiller valve replacements including operational checks.
  • Install flanged pipe couplings and torque to specification.
  • Execute Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure safety.
  • Read and work from job documentation to complete tasks correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety policies.
  • Communicate job status and document completed work as required.
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment properly.
  • Support troubleshooting and basic mechanical service tasks.
