Overview

Harsco is a leader in railway track maintenance, providing equipment and services to enhance safety and efficiency for various railway operators. The Fitter Welder role involves metal fabrication and assembly of structural metal products according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit, tack weld, pressure tight, test and repair piping systems and pressured vessels to blueprint specifications.
  • Assemble, tack weld, and straighten fabrications using jigs and fixtures.
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using measuring tools.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of trade training and high school education.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in metal fabrication and welding.
  • Ability to setup and utilize inspection equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of weld symbols and positions.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Access and Excel.
