Overview

GTI is a contract manufacturing partner that supports customers in renewable energy and industrial systems. The company is seeking a Millwright for mechanical assembly and system integration within modular data center builds at their Goodyear, AZ facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and installation of equipment within modular data center systems including cooling units, pumps, heat exchangers, and structural components.
  • Install and align mechanical systems within prefabricated modules, ensuring proper fit, function, and accessibility.
  • Assemble and integrate piping systems, valves, and mechanical components in coordination with engineering specifications.
  • Support system-level builds requiring coordination across mechanical, structural, and electrical systems.
  • Install, level, and align rotating and stationary equipment including pumps and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform precision alignment using levels, lasers, and measurement tools.
  • Verify tolerances, clearances, and mechanical integrity of installed equipment.
  • Ensure all components are installed to specification and ready for system integration.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings (ISO), P&IDs, and assembly layouts.
  • Follow Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure correct components are installed.
  • Identify and resolve fit-up, alignment, and integration issues during assembly.
  • Support layout and positioning of components within confined modular environments.
  • Install pre-fabricated piping systems including chilled water and cooling systems.
  • Align and secure flanged connections, valves, and fittings.
  • Support connection of piping systems to pumps, cooling equipment, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Ensure system integrity and readiness for testing and commissioning.
  • Ensure all mechanical assembly work meets quality standards and ISO9001 requirements.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and internal safety protocols.
  • Maintain high attention to detail to support First Pass Yield (FPY) and minimize rework.
  • Verify torque, alignment, and installation accuracy across all mechanical systems.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Identify inefficiencies in assembly processes and support improvements in throughput, cycle time, and takt time.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone methodologies.
  • Partner with Engineering to resolve mechanical design and integration challenges.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure material readiness and build execution.
  • Support system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience as a Millwright, Mechanical Assembler, or Industrial Equipment Installer.
  • Strong experience with mechanical assembly, equipment installation, and system integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Experience installing and aligning pumps, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with piping systems, flanges, valves, and mechanical components.
  • Strong understanding of tolerances, alignment, and mechanical fit-up.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools.
