The Marine Structural Engineer position in Long Beach involves working on marine structural designs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on various port and marine projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Engineer, Package Coordinator, or Manager overseeing technical teams and deliverables.
  • Apply engineering principles to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct marine structural engineering and design efforts aligning with standards and client needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering and operational data to support project objectives.
  • Prepare and review technical documents including drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Perform site visits, structural inspections, and construction support activities.
  • Lead and contribute to proposals and business development materials.
  • Build client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Support staff development and mentorship in technical fields.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering; master’s degree preferred in ports, marine, or coastal engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in detailed design of port and/or marine structures.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1–2 years.
  • General understanding of port planning precepts and navigation safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to execute and collaborate across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work under real-world constraints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, and familiarity with AutoCAD and Staad Pro.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site visits and meetings.
