Overview

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to meet the growing demand for launch capacity. We are seeking a passionate and technically accomplished Staff Additive Welding Engineer to lead the transition of advanced additive manufacturing technologies into scalable, production-ready systems for components.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the industrialization of additive weld technologies for flight hardware.
  • Own the technical transition from development to production, establishing necessary process architecture and controls.
  • Define and implement data-driven process control strategies to ensure stable production processes.
  • Serve as a technical authority for additive welding and manufacturing, guiding teams through complex challenges.
  • Lead technology maturation and integration, driving evaluation and deployment of new technologies.
  • Establish scalable pathways from innovation to production, balancing various operational requirements.
  • Influence cross-functional engineering teams to align development priorities with product requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Additive Manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with robotic welding systems and knowledge of industrial automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on process efficiency.
