Overview

As a Structural Engineer, you will work in the Infrastructure – Transportation business practice, focusing on highway and railway related structures, while being part of a diverse team committed to sustainable results.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural design for all project types, including complex bridges.
  • Perform schematic/geometric layout design of new structures.
  • Conduct analysis and design calculations according to applicable design codes.
  • Conduct load rating analysis for bridges.
  • Prepare plan drawings, details, construction specifications, and design calculations.
  • Conduct on-site inspection and condition assessment of existing structures.
  • Provide construction phase engineering support including reviews of shop drawings.
  • Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work.

Requirements

  • MS in Civil Engineering – Structures track required.
  • EIT certification required - on track to earn PE/SE.
  • 4+ years progressively responsible relevant experience.
  • Bridge Inspection experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with complex bridge projects.
  • Knowledge of bridge analysis, design, and detailing for local agencies.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in a team environment.
