Overview

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Airframe Structures Design Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) in Marietta, GA. The successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft structural design problems.

Responsibilities

  • Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents.
  • Contributing to developing, testing, and validating aircraft structural designs.
  • Assisting in creating system requirements, trade studies, statements of work, and test plans.
  • Coordination with internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), with some interaction with external IPTs and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with 3DX, CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
  • Experience creating and/or modifying drawings and/or 3D Model Based Engineering designs.
  • More than 4 years experience in aerospace vehicle development.
  • Experience with Fibersim or 3DX composites design workbench.
  • Experience with metallic and composite design.
  • Experience with 3D model based design definition.
  • Experience with determinant structural assembly design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
